I had the pleasure of meeting Chad and Kylie in the winter of 2020 when they booked a session with me. Right from the start, their thoughtfulness was evident as they showed up early with coffee for all of us.
Our connection only deepened as we spent time together during their engagement session the following summer. We shared laughs and stories, and we captured beautiful moments as we explored various locations.
Fast forward to the summer of 2021, and I had the honor of photographing their wedding day at the Mabel Hill Farm. The day began with preparations at Northern Greens Resort, where the couple, along with their respective groups, got ready. Despite the rain, their spirits remained high, and their love for each other illuminated every moment.
Their ceremony, originally planned for the outdoor wedding garden, was moved indoors due to the weather. Despite the change, the ceremony was filled with heartfelt vows and touching moments, officiated by Chad’s neighbor from his hometown.
For their photographs, we chose the enchanting Nipawin & District Regional Park which provided a picturesque backdrop of mossy trails and evergreen trees. The rain didn’t dampen their enthusiasm as we captured their genuine connection amidst the natural beauty.
Continuing the Celebration
Returning to Mabel Hill, the cozy candlelit ambiance set the tone for their reception. The venue, where they also got ready earlier in the day, offered a seamless transition from ceremony to celebration.
The heartfelt toasts, slideshow, and first dances were followed by an electric dance floor that kept everyone celebrating well into the night.
The couple’s wedding day was a true reflection of their love and personalities, with special touches that included a significant faux plant cherished by Chad’s friends. When I asked them about their wedding experience, they shared their favorite moments and surprises, including a touching gesture by Kylie’s dad wearing a tie adorned with her baby photos.
To future couples planning their wedding, Kylie and Chad offer advice to embrace the planning process and find joy in every moment. They encourage couples to take time to soak in the day, as it passes by quickly, and to savor the presence of loved ones.
Their wedding day was a testament to their genuine connection, thoughtful planning, and the beauty of embracing every moment, rain or shine.
